MARLINS READY FOR OPENER AFTER PRE-SEASON HIT-OUT

Some hot shooting from Marlins guard Dwayne Vale has helped his team over the line in the Marlins Inter-squad Challenge which was held yesterday at the Fish Tank.

In the team’s only pre-season trial match, Vale’s game-high 28 points was the major factor for the Marlins Black team which overcome the Marlins Blue team 85-69.

Vale was well supported by teammate Dean Brebner who added 19 points, while Deba George paced the Blue team with 24.  Aaron Grabau also added 18 for the Blue squad.

The Marlins will open their Queensland Basketball League season on the road this weekend, with games against the Townsville Heat on Friday night and Mackay Meteors on Saturday.
