Townsville Council has backed the Croc's for $1 million bank guarantee |
Tonight we completed the Expression of Interest and jet expressed it to reach the NBL/BA by the cut off date, 28Feb. A huge thank you to Mike Scott
who did most of the work, and Gaye Scott and her team at 20/20 for putting the finishing touches to and assembling the various components of the EOI
into a very neat final document.
Although we have not yet had the 3rd party confirmation on the supply of the $1m guarantee, we submitted the EOI, with an explantion as to where that currently sits, and agreement to supply the guarantee should our EOI gain us entry, conditional on the guarantee. It was great to see the report in the Townsville Bulletin about how the Crocs are supplying their guarantee (See story here). The Townville Council and our Cairns Regional Council are to be commended on their support for the cities respective NBL teams.
The Board met on Wednesday to review the budget submission going to the
NBL/BA, and to discuss a number of issues relating to the physical set up
of the operation, administrative staff requirements and the interaction
between the NBL team and the grass roots and school basketball
communities.
Membership pledges are starting to roll in as are the corporate box
surveys. If you are a Corporate box sponsor, please give some thought and
time to the catering questionaire. The Convention Centre is working with
us to ensure the catering is what the box patrons want,we need your
responses to ensure we get that. If you have already completed the survey
but missed the catering question, just send us your suggestions on a
separate email and we will include your suggestions when we go back to
the Centre with feedback.
With the EOI lodged we will start work on the end of season dinner,and
will have something positive on that on Monday....keep an eye on the web
site for news.
Thanks again for your support,and here's hoping we get some good news
about our bid to keep the Taipans alive very soon.
