Today we received advice that our application for incorporation has been accepted... we now have just 2 hurdles to jump for entry in the new NBL for the 2009/10 season.

Those hurdles are turning all the pledges to cash to ensure we have the required working capital to meet one of the financial requirements for entry and to pay for the Taipans licence. The other hurdle... the $1m guarantee....rests with our request of the Queeensland Government to provide same.

We believe we have mounted a compelling argument for this to occur, and will keep you informed of whats happening with our request.

The NBL/BA have been very guarded with the shape of next seasons competition, we are hoping that we we will get some direction following the BA Board meeting next Monday 30th March.

We want to use this opportunity to thank the team and coaches for the effort they put in to finish the season, the effort that gave us the opportunity to keep the Taipans alive through community ownership. We also want use the dinner to thank the people who pre purchased tickets, and for sponsors who stayed on board when they could have abandoned ship when the team went into administration.

The Taipans will survive and prosper in community ownership because many of you reading this care enough to have committed to that form of ownership. The Taipans will survive and prosper because I know you will support the dinner to thank the people who have helped to keep the Taipans head above water in difficult times.
